Gull lake Minnesota

Gull Lake continues to prove why it’s one of Minnesota’s most consistent and rewarding walleye fisheries. We hit the water recently and found an active bite along the weed line edges.

We were pitching mainly jigs tipped with crawlers, targeting the outer edge of submerged vegetation. The key was using our Garmin LiveScope to stay right on top of the fish. Forward-facing sonar helped us spot pods of walleyes tucked close to the weeds and adjust . The fish weren’t just sitting,they were actively cruising and reacting to our presentations.

Later in the day, we pushed out deeper and marked a few bigger fish suspended off the breaks. That’s when Berkley Finishing came into play, more precise presentations helped us convert those marks into solid hooksets.
