MWC World Walleye Championship – Day Two of Pre-Fishing

Day two of pre-fishing is officially in the books. The bite was a little tougher today after last night’s full moon, but we still managed to find a few unders, a couple of really close overs, and one big over. Unfortunately, that big one showed up today instead of on tournament day—but that’s fishing. Hopefully, she’ll be waiting for us later this week.

We made a run to another chain of lakes, which took a little navigation and a little courage, but it paid off. It looks like a solid body of water that could play a key role in our rotation for this three-day championship.

This morning started off cold again, and once more, my Cold Snap Outdoors CS-ONE suit came through clutch. With tomorrow’s forecast calling for 34°, I’ll definitely be in full Cold Snap gear. I spent most of today using JT Outdoor Products rods, mainly the Panhandler and the 9’2” Spinning Snare Rod, and both performed flawlessly.

One thing that really stood out today—the fish are clearly feeding more at night with this full moon. Last night was a full moon, and tonight will be too, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow on our final day of pre-fishing before the tournament kicks off Thursday through Saturday.

We’re feeling confident about what we’ve found so far. The goal now is to fine-tune the game plan, fish clean, and keep our heads up all the way until the final second
